THE DOGS HAVE GOTTEN OUT!

Thousands of respectable people and cats were shocked and horrified to learn that Shelterdog Music unleashed Jonathan Hoffman's long-muzzled CD, For Dog Lovers Only, this week.  The CD hasn't hit the music stores and internet distributors quite yet, but advance mail-order sales are already proceeding at a brisk pace at  Shelterdog Music's own website.

The CD features 14 unique and original songs, all written from a dog's perspective. The best description of the CD comes from none other than the dog himself.  You can read all about it right here.

The zany subject matter and wry lyrics are supported by some seriously fine musicianship, including the work of outstanding guitarists Terry Robb and Doug Smith; keyboardist Fritz Weber, jazz vocalist Armonica, we well as members of the outstanding bluegrass group, The Poison Oakies.

HOW TO ORDER

To be the first dog in your kennel to have an advance copy of For Dog Lovers Only, simply print out the order form, below.   If you'd rather order from a reputable music distributor, or merely use your VISA card, in 30 days or so the CD should be available from major internet distributors.

CD RELEASE PARTY--MARK YOUR CALENDAR

Thursday, November 11th, upstairs at the Lucky Lab  (where else could the CD Release Party for For Dog Lovers Only possibly be?), 7675 SW Capitol Blvd., in Portland, Oregon, so mark that tentative date on your calendar.  You'll also get a chance to hear some of the best musicians anywhere.  Further details will follow in the next newsletter.

Whatever, you do, DON'T judge this CD on your own.  See what others say:

“A truthful, searing, peering into the heart of a dog. The angst is profound. The songs plumb the psychological depths of the canine soul, the zeitgeist of the canine world.”

--Siegfried von der Schnapps, D.V.P.
President, International Veterinary Psychiatry Assn.

“That so-called dog, Watson, is a liar. I was there. I know what really happened. He wasn’t a shelterdog at all.  He can’t prove otherwise.”

--Fluffo
Public Relations Representative
Swift Cats for Truth

“Whatever this is, I wouldn’t call it music.”

--Sledgefoot
Lead vocalist,
Phillips Head SpeedfreaX

“As an organization, we strongly disapprove of the song, “Big Smelly Woman.” ‘Bitch’ is the proper term for a female dog. So, obviously, they should have called the song, ‘Big Smelly Bitch’.”

--Hermione Noseworthy
President,
Society for the Empowerment of Female Poodles

“If the songs on this CD are as hilarious as they claim, then I’m Joe Schlabotnik.”

-–Joseph P. Schlabotnik
