Songs for
Guess I'll Have to Write My Own

Track 1: Guess I'll Have to Write My Own
Listen: RealAudio (60kb) | WAV(2.3mb)

II went to see some rock and roll at the concert Friday night
The smoke and lights were out of sight and the dancing was a delight
But the crown was full of creeps and morons, a shouting, drugged-out throng
And the lead singer lip-synched the words so she wouldn't screw up the song

CHORUS: There's music, music everywhere but I feel so all alone
So if I want a song that I really love
I guess I'll have to write my own.

I got a special offer from the folks at the BMG
I could choose a dozen brand new CD's for one gold Sacagewea
But when I looked at their selection there wasn't much to see
Hip hop, rap and a lot of pap from Neil Diamond to Britney

CHORUS

So I drove to the Tower Records store, where records don't exist
There were miles of aisles of new CDs, all of which I could resist
There was pop and country western, big displays of all the hits
But when I looked for something just a tad offbeat, their selection was the pits.

CHORUS

So I logged onto the Internet, browsing for some MP3
'Though the sound was rough there was loads of stuff and they said that it all was free
It was worth every centavo, till some stranger handed something to me
And that's when I discovered that I'd get to be on Court TV.
