For Dog Lovers Only

Track 1: Going to the Lake

I jump in the car

I hope we drive far

I hope we go to the lake.

Please don't waste any time

'Cause it looks like I'm

Gonna go to the lake.

As we get close

This fine-tuned nose

Knows exactly what it has detected.

I'm jumping for joy

' Cause boy oh boy

That lake and my soul are directly connected.

Patience is good

I would if I could

But give me a break.

They want me to rest

But the dog knows best

So this pup is wide

I say wide awake. It's not hard to see

I 'm excited as a dog can possibly be

So for heaven's sake

Won't you get to the lake

With me.

I don't need a leash

When I run on the beach

Of the beautiful lake

This dog's full of smiles

'Cause for miles and miles

I can run round the lake.

I romp and I play

I could spend the whole day

A million new smells I've collected

I 'm jumping for joy

'Cause boy oh boy

That lake and my soul are directly connected.

I circle and swirl

I 'm chasing the squirrels

If they're close to the lake

I 'm totally wired

So I never get tired

So I never take five

Not a five-minute break

I don't need city parks

Or a walk on the lawn on a leash in the dark

So please on a lark won't you go to the lake with me.

BRIDGE:

When pups are in their prime

It's the perfect time

To let them spend some time their way

There's a wealth of history

In the smell of every tree

So won't you let this poor dog has his day?

And that's why I say

I won't want to stop

I'll run till I drop

When I go to the lake.

When the sun starts to set

I fear I won't get

To have my way

And stay at the lake

But I'll come with you back home

So you won't be unhappy

And you won't be alone

And I hope you will learn

To return to the lake with me.

We'll be gung ho

If you go to the lake with me.
